Money’s tight these days, and food becomes even more expensive when you have special dietary requirements. I can’t tell you how excited I was to find out that Amazon.com sells many specialty items for super cheap, which is a HUGE godsend when you live in an area where there are no health food stores!
Today I was shopping around and I found one of my favorite holiday products: Pamela’s Gluten Free Cornbread & Muffin Mix. Once I went gluten free, I was bummed to miss out on cornbread during Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner – but I found Pamela’s mix a few years ago at my local Whole Foods. I loved the taste and texture of the bread, but I was put off by the $6 price tag (I mean, yikes! pricey much?). Amazon is now selling a case of six cornbread mixes for only $21, and there’s no sales tax (in you live outside of Washington) and free shipping (if you use their Super Saver shipping option). That comes out to about $3.50 a bag, which is almost half price. Hallelujah!
So go forth and enjoy your holiday cornbread, my gluten free brothers and sisters. And stay tuned for more kick-ass deals to keep your sensitive gullet happy.

How sweet is it? As a Southerner, I naturally abhor the spongy sweet corn cake some regions call corn bread.
Not too sweet at all – and it has that nice dense texture.
I noticed our local Costco had gluten-free flours. I don’t recall the costs, and I wouldn’t know how they compare, but it may offer better bulk options.
I hadn’t thought to check out Costco. Thanks!
I had no idea such deals were to be had on Amazon!
There are TONS of deals! Their gourmet section is amazing, and cheap.
Thanks for this tip. As an innkeeper, I have more and more quests who request gluten-free. Never would I have thought to look on Amazon for muffin mixes!
They have all sorts of specialty groceries – you might be able to stock an entire food allergy pantry.
